BECOME A MEMBER
Omagh Triathlon Club are affiliated with www.TriathlonIreland.com where annual membership can be purchased or renewed. Full club membership entitles members to coached training sessions, race day licences, and insurance cover for all training/racing.
We currently have over 100 members with ages from 18-80!

TRAINING
Training is primarily based around the county town of Omagh and the nearby village of Loughmacrory, which is home to its own 24-hectare, freshwater lough nestling in the heart of the beautiful Sperrins.
Club members can avail of various weekly group training sessions, or of course train separately on their own.

- Although swimming is the shortest leg in a Triathlon it is also the most difficult to master and gain confidence in. Omagh Triathlon Club offer up to 3 coached swim sessions per week for all swimmer skill levels including beginners.
- There is no organised club training on Saturdays to allow for other/family sport commitments or races which normally take place on Saturday mornings during race season.
- On some Sunday mornings during June and July we host supervised race route practice sessions with untimed Swim, Bike, and Run legs at Loughmacrory for triathletes to prepare in the lead up to our annual Tri the Lough and Tri a Tri events.

Throughout the year Omagh Triathlon Club have always integrated special events into the training schedule to keep our members on their toes. Past years have included:
Spring = Foreign training holiday

Monthly 10-mile time trial cycle from Omagh with prizes for table toppers at end of the season
Autumn = Foreign middle distance race

Triathlon races vary in distance and difficulty ranging from entry level Try-a-Tri to bragging rights Full distance.
Race calendar is filled with events race to suit all abilities with Sprint and Olympic distance the most common.
